La Maglia Cabin
Perched in Alto, New Mexico this cabin is grounded on a sloped lot. Carefully oriented to capture long, unobstructed views towards the surrounding mountain ranges. The core of the house is around the familial spaces of the kitchen, living, and dining room. This core acts as the social anchor of the home, scaled to accommodate gathering while maintaining an intimacy through materiality.

Justine Humble-Ogaz is a multi-disciplinary designer from Albuquerque, NM. She attended UNM School of Architecture and California College of the Arts in San Francisco. These two places gave her the background of place from the traditions of her ancestors of New Mexico, while also adding the San Francisco flare of ornament and patterns. She previously worked under Antoine Predock for his last several years of life. Her designs are sensitive to the personalities of the occupants and how they interact across adjacencies and materiality. She also has a passion for old and new traditions of fabrication. Her work has been shown locally at 516 Arts and at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
